Equity Financial Trust Company (“EFT”) is a federally chartered trust company that is regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (“OSFI”). EFT calculates regulatory capital and capital ratios based on Capital Adequacy Requirements Guidelines issued by OSFI. The guidelines are based on “Basel III: A global regulatory framework for more resilient banks and banking systems – A Revised Framework” (“Basel III”), which EFT adopted effective January 1, 2013.
Pillar 3 of the framework relates to disclosures to be made to allow market participants to assess a financial institution’s capital risk exposures and risk assessment process and hence its capital adequacy. EFT’s required regulatory disclosures post Sept 30, 2017 can be found below.
